FAQs

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings to mid-afternoon.

I am unable to accommodate any needs or requests for appointments outside of these days and times. I’ve worked evenings and weekends most of my career and while I recognize the need for this, at this stage in my own life it is not something I can offer.

  • The cost per session is $160.

While I understand this rate is inaccessible to many, the reason for my therapy services being set at this amount is nuanced, including the fact I have to work limited hours due to my disabilities.

This also allows me to be able to focus on fewer clients in order to provide the best quality care possible.

I am unable to offer sliding scale or lower cost appointments at this time. I intend to work toward being able to do so at some point in the future.

Aside from my work here, I contribute to mutual aid and volunteer with the local Special and Gifted Education council. I also run social media accounts educating service providers and advocating for the needs of those within my disabled communities.

I give free labor to give back in realistic ways and while I value therapy being accessible, I am unable to make my therapy services any more accessible at this time.

  • I do not take insurance and will not be taking insurance at any time in the future.

You may request a SuperBill you can submit to your own insurance. All communication with insurance companies will be your responsibility.

  • I am mindful of the unique experiences Neurodivergent folks and especially those of us who are also LGBTQIAP2S+ expericence.

I use this understanding to guide how I interpret data, research, trainings and how I adapt therapy to best fit your unique needs.

I am affirming in my practice and personal beliefs as I recognize all brains, bodies and experiences are unique and I do not view them as broken or in need of fixing. Rather we all have unique needs which are to be supported. We feel less distress once we learn how to best support our needs.

I am inclusive in that I value diversity and work toward being intersectional in my feminism, anti-racist, anti-diet and more. I will meet you without judgement while recognizing the implicit and explicit biases in order to combat these.

I am able to offer accommodations to the point they are within my own abilities to offer and access as a disabled, multiply Neurodivergent person. There will be certain accommodations and accessibility needs I will not be able to provide due to me being one person with limitations as a disabled human.

If you have an accommodation request or accessibility need and want to ask if I can support this, please use my contact form.

If your request is something along the lines of a sliding scale spot or evening appointments, I am not able to accommodate anything outside of the boundaries I’ve set within the answers on this FAQ page as well as in my policies and procedures.

  • Any and all diagnoses in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Edition, Text Revision.

Licensed Professional Counselors in the state of Texas are educated and are encouraged to see further training in assessment and diagnosis. We are legally and ethically capable and allowed to diagnose anything we feel competent to diagnose.

Diagnosis is a special area of interest for me, so while I support those who do not wish to have an official diagnosis, I am able to provide one foe those who do.

I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist and am unable to provide a psychological evaluation (required by some schools, etc.)

Since I work with adults, most do not need a full psychological evaluation when seeking accommodation or even affirmation of what they’ve personally recognized.

I have had my diagnoses accepted by universities, disability services and employers - though I cannot guarantee any entity will accept my diagnosis as that is at their discretion and according to their requirements.

  • If an individual client is a parent or caregiver - I love working with parents and caregivers. Being able to support you while you support others is so rewarding. While the appointments need to focus on your experiences and not on parenting advice, etc. this is an area I can support.

  • Not at this time, though I have worked with couples in the past.

For now I am focusing on working with individuals and use my relationship counseling training and experience to better support my clients in their relationships.

  • My focus is working with adults and will not be taking any younger clients.(

I understand there is a need for therapists who understand Autism and PDA are needed to work with children and teens - which is why I volunteer by educating other therapists on how to best support folks in my communities.

So while I worked with children, teens and their families for several years - I only work with adults now and do not work with children or teens at this time.

  • I do not conduct forensic interviews nor do I attend court aside from my legal obligation when subpoena’d.

You have the right to access your paperwork by signing a release form which you may use however you choose.

Judges typically prefer those with PhD’s and PsyD’s to appear in court as witnesses or assessors, so while I am legally and ethically able to diagnose - I am not a Psychologist or Psychiatrist.

The cost of court appearances is covered in the intake paperwork and disclosures.

  • I do not provide crisis services.

I am only able to work with clients who are able to work with an outpatient telehealth therapist at this time.

Communication outside of sessions is for scheduling changes / non-clinical communication.

  • I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, with the understanding that emergencies do occur and will make exceptions to the fee on a case by case basis.

Up to two exemptions from the fee for late cancellations and no shows due to true emergencies will be considered in a six month period.

Any additional late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full fee.
